GridLiance Strengthens Executive Team, Names Trent Carlson SVP, Regulatory and Corporate Services

Announces Promotions in Federal Government Affairs
and Corporate Development Departments

Dallas, TX (April 24, 2018) – GridLiance today announced that Trent Carlson has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Regulatory and Corporate Services and named a member of the Company’s executive team, effective immediately. In this new role, Carlson will continue to oversee regulatory policy, compliance, communications, and information technology for GridLiance.

“Recent business transactions, including the acquisition of the City of Nixa, Missouri’s transmission assets, require that we continue to refine and strengthen our management structure to meet our growth challenges. Trent’s appointment to the executive team will help in those efforts,” said Calvin Crowder, GridLiance President and CEO. “Trent has been an indispensable asset to GridLiance since joining the company in 2014. His breadth of experience in the power industry complements our current executive team’s skills and expertise, and will allow us to achieve our mission to build and buy transmission facilities for the long term.”

Carlson has more than 30 years of electric industry experience. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Regulatory and Corporate Services at GridLiance. Before joining GridLiance in 2014, he was Vice President and Compliance Manager for nearly four years at JP Morgan. Prior to that role, he was Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at RRI Energy, formerly Reliant Energy, Inc. Before joining Reliant, Carlson served as the Director of Operations Support and Training at the California Independent System Operator.

GridLiance Names Two New Vice Presidents

In addition to naming Carlson to his new role, GridLiance announced the promotions of Jay Carrière to Vice President of Federal Government Affairs and Brett Hooton to Vice President of Corporate Development and President of GridLiance utility subsidiary South Central MCN LLC, effective immediately.

Carrière joined GridLiance in February 2016. He has 20 years of experience in government affairs, including nine years at Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company (BHE), where he served as Director of Federal Government Affairs. Prior to BHE, Carrière served as a Manager of Federal Regulatory Affairs at PacifiCorp. Earlier in his career, Carrière worked at the Edison Electric Institute.

Hooton joined GridLiance in March 2016. He has more than eight years of transmission planning experience. Prior to joining GridLiance, he worked at Southwest Power Pool, Inc. (SPP), serving as a Senior Interregional Coordinator. In this role, Hooton was instrumental in developing business agreements on behalf of SPP and represented the organization at industry forums.
