Jeff Shorter is vice president of corporate development at GridLiance. Shorter brings almost 30 years of experience in business development, energy asset optimization, logistics, and operational planning to his role. He is responsible for identifying strategic business development and partnership opportunities with cooperatives, municipalities, and developers in expanding the Gridliance national footprint.
Before he joined GridLiance, Shorter was a partner in a consulting/asset optimization firm. There he shaped business strategy and acquired distressed, underutilized, and undervalued infrastructure assets. Prior to that role, he was a vice president of business development at InfraREIT Capital Partners, LLC and partner at Captra Capital LLC. He developed a strategic business development framework and led acquisition strategies for the investment fund. Shorter also has held several key executive positions at retail electricity providers and energy technology companies including serving as president of Alliance Data Utility Services, senior vice president of PNM Resources, president of First Choice Power, and senior vice president of commercial operations for TXU Energy Trading.
Shorter earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and an MBA from Texas Tech University. He is an advisor for the student managed Spindletop Energy Fund and part-time lecturer on renewable and fossil power generation at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
