Kevin Donnelly is vice president of Corporate Development for GridLiance, the nation’s first independent transmission company primarily focused on working with municipal utilities, joint action agencies and electric cooperatives to address and solve their transmission needs. As vice president of Corporate Development, Donnelly leads corporate development efforts related to assessing new business opportunities, exploring regional expansion, and leading large transaction negotiations.
Donnelly has extensive experience in the energy industry in all aspects of finance, strategy, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, accounting, tax, and forecasting. Prior to GridLiance, Donnelly was interim chief financial officer for the Upper Peninsula Power Company, a vertically integrated utility headquartered in Marquette, MI. Prior to that, Donnelly served as managing director at Duke Energy Corporation and Central and South West, prior to its merger with American Electric Power, where he managed strategic projects and mergers and acquisitions in electric, pipeline, midstream gas processing, real estate, and telecommunications both domestically and internationally.
Donnelly received his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University. He has received various awards for innovative and creative problem solving and value creation, including Duke Energy’s James B Duke Award for creative structuring and successful closing of a real estate development leveraged partnership.
