GridLiance High Plains

Overview

GridLiance High Plains is a transmission-only utility that owns, builds, and operates transmission assets in the Southwest Power Pool, Inc. (SPP) region.

With a footprint in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, GridLiance High Plains owns and operates more than 450 miles of transmission lines and related assets.

Since it was established in 2016, GridLiance High Plains has worked to address the specific needs of rural transmission customers and focus on reliability issues that have frustrated residential and business customers alike. In Kansas, this work has led GridLiance to move transmission power lines consistently threatened by the reoccurring flooding of a local river. GridLiance has built additional transmission lines to reduce the duration and number of outages that have traditionally left transmission customers in the dark when severe weather sweeps through the Oklahoma Panhandle to the benefit of SPP.
